Overview

The Bridge is a human service agency that provides counseling services to people facing challenges. 

 

This residential program offers comprehensive community-based services to five individuals with intellectual disabilities as well as significant behavioral challenges. There is 24-hour staffing in the residence. The focus of the program is the development of social skills, community participation, and wellness.

 

The Bridge provides excellent supervision (both individual and group), as well as various trainings in which to obtain CEU’s, and opportunities for advancement. The Bridge is an eligible employer for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program and provides tuition reimbursement for continuing education. 

Responsibilities

Residential Counselors provide support, guidance, advocacy, case management, and empowerment to the adults served in this community residential setting. 

 

Residential Counselors are also responsible for: hygiene (ADL's-toileting, showering, etc.), transfers, transportation, medication administration, meal preparation, documentation, and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Social Services related field preferred, and/or experience or internship with adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • 20 years of age.
  • Current, valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
  • Candidate must be First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) certified or certifiable. 
  • Eligible candidates must be comfortable assisting individuals with ADL’s and/or hygiene as needed.
