The Bridge is a human service agency that provides counseling services to people facing challenges. This service supports older individuals with intellectual disabilities and significant medical challenges. The focus of this service is to offer a home to individuals and to avoid nursing home placement, and offers specialized personal care to each individual. Community inclusion is also a primary focus, as well as maintaining relationships with family members and significant others. Residents are referred by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
The Bridge provides excellent supervision (both individual and group), as well as various trainings in which to obtain CEU’s, and opportunities for advancement. The Bridge is an eligible employer for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program and provides tuition reimbursement for continuing education.
Awake overnight counselors provide support to individuals who live in the program.
Candidates must have the ability to remain awake and alert during the overnight shift. The awake overnight staff are responsible for providing a safe, secure environment for the individuals we provide services to. Overnight staff complete basic housekeeping, filing, hygiene (personal care), lifting, assisting with transfers, documentation, medication counts, and may administer medications. Overnight staff must be able to respond to any issues that may arise.
